A Gift of Time is a Georgetown-based nonprofit created to support families living with mild to moderate dementia—with compassion, dignity, and a deep understanding of what families are carrying.
Founded in 2015, A Gift of Time grew from a simple idea: families shouldn’t have to walk this journey alone. When our programs launched in 2022, we focused on meeting families where they are—often overwhelmed, unsure, and in need of a little breathing room.
Our core program is free, weekly respite care, providing family care partners a few uninterrupted hours while their loved ones enjoy meaningful activities, music, and a shared meal in a safe, dementia-friendly environment. Everything we do is person-centered and shaped by real families, real experiences, and the needs we see every day here in Georgetown.
In addition to respite, we offer education, Memory Café gatherings, early-stage programs, and dementia-friendly community experiences—working alongside local volunteers, musicians, churches, libraries, and partners who care deeply about this community.
At A Gift of Time, there’s no pressure to have all the answers. Whether you’re just beginning to ask questions or looking for ongoing support, you are welcome here.
